2018 - Reflection

WALT: Reflect on 2018

The School year is almost finish, It has been a very great year with my peers and my teachers. I have learned a lot from the Kia Manawanui. I have been building up my confidence and I have been this year. 3 words that describes this year is Confident, Funny, Positive. The one thing I have achieved this year was my Confident skill and I am really proud of .The new thing I have discovered this year about me is, I can be I can strike and achieve but I just need to get my head focus.

 Leaving this school is like leaving my family, Tamaki Primary School taught me a lot. What I have found challenging this year was Maths because I don't really like but when I started to learn more and now Maths is one of my favourite.  The 5 people that I enjoyed spending time with was Deme, Toma, Aumau, Alo and Suave. The person that always had a positive impact was Grace because she would always help me with my work when I am stuck. When im always off task she would always correct me.

The Last Week (Reflection)

The last week of school, This week is our last week of school until I go College. I am feeling nervous to go to college because it's really different going college because it's not the same as intermediate and primary. I really want to leave this school but I have too. Leaving this school is like leaving my family, Tamaki Primary School taught me alot.  Because its the Last week of school I would be trying hardest to complete all my work and stuff that is unfinished. What I have found challenging this year before the year ends was being confident on giving my opinion on our debate we have did.

IALT: Reflect on what we did with our Buddy for reading.

Today me and my buddy Demetrius worked on our Reading task which was about New Zealand Environment/Native Bush questions. It was fun doing our Questions because we finished it so fast and we were on to it. What I found challenging was Researching about some of the questions because I had to visit different sites and put it into my own words.  What I found enjoyable was finding out informations about the animals that has been introduced to New zealand in the past.

Critical analysis of still images ( Reflection)

I am learning to reflect about Critical analysis of still images.

Today after morning we got splitted up into Room 9 and Room 10, I was in Room 10 and what we did was we had to Analyse 3 Still Pictures. The picture was really weird to me. So we had to talk in a group of 4 on what the picture is about and 7 key questions. The 7 questions were...

 Who took the photo?

How is the subject represented in the photo?

What kinds of messages are being conveyed?

How do different parts of the image contribute to these messages?

What if the photo was taken from a different angle or cropped differently?

Who might the intended audience be?

How might different groups of people respond to the image?

 

What I found challenging was answering the question because it was so challenging to see what they are doing. Lastly what I found fun and enjoyable was seeing how people would react to what they are doing.

Astria – Countdown to Impact ( Reflection)

Astria – Countdown to Impact.

IALT: Reflect on what we did for our game called Astria.

Yesterday we started a new game called Astria - Countdown to Impact. My partner was Timeus, When we started the game he didn't feel like playing but while we were playing it started to get fun and excited. The game we played was about reading and trying to think critically on the answers. Me and Timeus was on to our Game because after the day we started the next day (Today) we finished under 10 minutes, It was funny because some questions we pretty hard. What I found challenging was picking the facts in the game because it was so hard. We used our thinking skills for this game even though it was so hard to answer.

Inquiry - Technological World

IALT:Reflect on what I did for my Technological World

Today me and my group have been working on our Technological World and the technology we choset was Cars. My question that I did was How has Cars changed the way we live?.

It has changed the  way we live because nowadays it makes life easier. My answer was... Cars in the old days was very different because in the past there cars was like only upto 45 hp( which is very slow) and nowadays cars can go over 200 HP/Horsepower. Cars have changed the way we live because nowadays our cars are more safe for us because in the past it was pretty dangerous.


Me and my group have been working so hard on our presentation, What I found challenging was answering my question because it was pretty confusing but then started to get more information and Ideas.

Maths Reflection

WALT:Reflect on what we did for Maths.

Today in the middle block Kia Manawanui had maths, what we did for maths was worksheet we had to catch up with and the worksheet we did was all about Adding and subtracting decimals. 

I found it very fun because I got 2 pages done. What I found challenging was subtracting decimals because some were easy some were hard.

 The question I was stuck was 112.5 - 27.60, It was really hard for me but then I got helped from others. I really think I have improved in my Maths skills because Im getting use to using Maths languages and answering question quicker than before.

Predator Free

WALT: Reflect about what we did this morning block.

Today Ms. Treena came to our class and she came in and she was talking about Pest eating our Native animals. She was giving us information about how predators always kill and eat our endangered. What I didn't know about animal predators is that they can kill our Native birds and animals.

 Ms. Treena gave us a site to say our opinion of Why we Agree/Disagree on having these endangered predator animal in New Zealand. What I found challenging was Agreeing or Disagreeing on having the Pest in New Zealand and giving the pest respect. I disagree on having a pest in New Zealand because they always kill our Native Animals, Here is my comment.

Manaiakalani Film Festival (Reflection)

WALT: Reflect on what we did at Manaiakalani Film Festival.

Today we went to the Sylvia Park hoyts to watch our Manaiakalani Film Festival. When we got there we had to wait, we didn't take that long because we made it in time. When we got there we took a seat and then we had to wait over 5 minutes until the Film started.  When it started I was excited because I cannot wait to watch our Cluster Films. My favourite part of the film was Room 6 in Tamaki Primary because they were showing kindness and helping each other and I really enjoyed their song and the dance moves they did because it felt fun. 

Kiwisport (Flag Football)

WALT: Reflect on what we did at Flag football.

Today we had Flag football, When we got there we had warm ups. First we had to get in a circle and we did fast feet, after doing fast feet we had to practice our football passes. After practicing our passes we go into a game our game. The game we played similar to American football but we just had to touch them if they get caught.

First we did 3v3 because we played in the hall, we played in the hall because it started to rain outside. On the first round my team and the other team didn't score but then when my group jumped in we started to get scores, so the score was 2 all. If we had more meters I think we would of got more scores. 

What I found challenging was trying get into bigger space because the hall  was a bit small to play in. Another challenge that was hard for me was doing the peace tuck because when I catch I always forget to make a peace sign when I catch the ball.

Te Tuhi Reflection

Kia orana,Kia ora,Talofa Lava and greetings to you all

Welcome to my blog😁😁

Today we Group 1 went Te Tuhi. Te Tuhi is a place that is known for Art Galleries and more and it is located at Pakuranga. Today we got to paint a very fun Art called Abstract art. Abstract Art is what my class has been learning about and Abstract art is a art that does not need to look realistic. Another definition of Abstract is that it uses Shape,Colours,Texture and affect. What I think is a way to make abstract is tearing stuff apart

We got to use different type of tools to trace on our paper. What I chose was a controller because I loved playing games like Fortnite and a TV because I always watch rugby on SKY TV. We had to use 4 colours and my 4 colours was Red,Yellow,Blue and White. Here is a Unfinished work of mine.→→→

After doing our Abstract art we went into this Art place and what we saw was Yellow,Red,Blue and symbols, when I walked in, and straight into my head I was thinking that it's a Tongan design. The man that created this Tongan art was Benjamin Work. So on the Top left represents the stars on the Tongan coat of arms and the top left represents the crown the bottom left represents the dove on the Tongan coat of arms and the bottom left represent the 3 knives.

How I think that technologies plays a role in abstract is by using Canvas,Paintbrush and more.

What is Technology (Reflection)

WALA: Our Technological World.

Key Question: How does technology affect us??

So what we did first was we had to name 2 Technology you use everyday. The 2 

technology I use everyday is PS4 and Microwave.

 A definition of both of these Object is that Microwave Warm up your food and a PS4 lets you play games for e.g A game Fortnite.

What I didn't know about Technologies is that they are not all electricity because Spoons,Knives,Fork is a technology but it has no electricity. 

Technology is so useful and it makes life's easy.

 So Technology is a Useful purpose. 

There are lots of Technology Electricity like Cellphones,PS4,XBOX 1,Microwave, T.V. 

What I found challenging was coming up with different Technology resources because others had the same Technology answer as mine.

How I can improve what I found challenging is going to my house and looking around on what kind of Technologies I have at my house that noone has said. Today's lesson was very fun and it was good to know because I didn't know that much about our new topic of Technology.

Holiday Reflection

Kia ora, Malo e Lelei,Talofa lava, Fakalofa lahi atu and greetings to you all.

Welcome to my first term 4 blog.

WALT: Reflect on what we did in the Holidays.

On the first weeks I had to go work with my dad and the work he works at is Roofcare and I hated it because it was so sunny and we had to work outside and it was just steaming hot. But I just liked the food we had at work because we always had chicken and chips. On friday I only got paid $300 because i'm a child but I was pretty jealous because the others had $500 but I was thankful on what I have because that is a lot of money for my age.

.
On the Second week I had a BBQ with my family and it was just amazing. We had a BBQ because my family from overseas and my cousins came from Dunedin so we had heaps of people at my house.
I really liked the second week of the holidays because I played Fortnite with Demetrius and Toma and some other friends. While I was playing Fortnite I started to play random fills on Playground because everyone left I was lonely.


 What I found challenging on Fortnite was trying over build Toma because he is a game freak. On Saturday last week me and my cousin went to a outreach and it was fun, the outreach was around G.I(Glen Innes) What we did was we had to rap about GOD,Invite them to a church concert and others were preaching how GOD saved them from Bad stuff.



So my 3 Highlights of the  Holiday was..

1. Getting $300 and spending it on my family
2. Playing Fortnite 24/7
3. Going to a outreach.

Duffy Assembly (Reflection)

IALT: reflect about our Duffy Assembly.

Today we had a special duffy assembly. We had a visitor that had came from South Auckland illustrator. He is a well known person for making comic books and he is well known as a professional wrestler in New Zealand.

 He was a very special guest and his name was Michael Mulipola. He was a very funny guy and he has versed a professional WWE wrestler called AJ Style.

 AJ Style is a very good professional player at the moment he is the WWE heavyweight Champion after he defeated Samoa Joe. When Michael Mulipola was young he love reading comic books and he love drawing too.

What I have learned from is just to always follow your dream just like him when he was young he always wanted to be a great comic book writer and a wrestler.

Poetry (Reflection)

WALT:Reflect on what we did with my Poem.

Last week we had to record our poem we did last week, and my poem was about floods. What I needed in my poem was  figurative language like Similes, Metaphors, Onomatopoeia and more like Alliteration. We had to put Punctuation in my poem because when the audience read it they will read it fast so we it is important to use Punctuation.

Pepeha (Reflection)

WALT: Reflect on what we did with our pepeha.

Yesterday Kia Manawanui had to make a DLO and create our Pepeha.  For our Pepeha we talked about our tribe and more like what's our parents name and heaps more but it would show in the video. I hope you guys enjoy my screencastify and my DLO I have made for you guys.

Museum Reflection

WALT:Reflect about the Museum trip we went on.



I really had fun exploring new thing at the Museum. We had the same two instructors which was Angelique and Wendy. Me and Toma were buddies and we just needed to get our drawings done. We used 4 tools which was Virtual Reality, Stop Motion, Tinkercad and Paint 3D. What we first tried was Virtual Reality I tried drawing a house and a sky tower but it just look so cricket. 
Then we had Morning tea and it was so fun that we got to spend time with others we didn't get to talk to. 

So we tried something else which was Stop Motion so it took 30 minute to build our city with lego and still didn't work. We had backup which was Tinkercad and  now we are almost finish. What I found challenging was  doing the Virtual Reality because when I try draw my house just looks cricket.

Pakuranga Jagz (2nd to last training for this season)

WALT: Reflect on what we did at training.

Yesterday the 7th of August Me and Demetrius had our 2nd to last training for our ARL season. Yesterday we only had only touch for our training. Training was so fun that we all got to verse each other and my target was always Demetrius.
The reason why I always target Demetrius is because while we were playing touch Demetrius came out of nowhere and hit me while I jumped and grabbed the ball. 

What I found challenging was catching the ball because it had no grip and it was so slippery to run with the ball because when I always step the ball always drops and it's always the other team is ball.
After playing our first half we had to go through some stretches as a team so the stretches we did was High knees, Butkicks, Sumo Squats and Lunges.

 After our stretches I had to pick who would should be the MVP player for this season in our team. I chose Curtis who is in our team because he is a very great player but I forgot our captain Kaelis because he is a very good  defensive player and he always listens to our coach.

Tuakana Teina day.

WALT: reflect on what we did for Tuakana Teina day.

Yesterday the 31st of July Kia Manawanui had Tuakana Teina day with Room 4 and Room 5. So first we had to look for a Kia Manawanui buddy so I was with Aumau. Our Room 4 buddy was Pauliasi he was a very intelligent buddy. 1st we had to fill in a presentation that Miss Komor has sent to us. 

After we have finish answering it all we had to make our presentation look very eye catching, the colour I did was gradient pink and yellow I did these colours because it looked so bright and cool. Working with Pauliasi was fun because he always he likes to  asks us lots of powerful question so it was fun working with him. 

After Morning tea we did a treasure hunt about the Cook Islands because it is Cook Island week this week.We did our treasure hunt with room 4 and some stayed at room 10. So What we did was that we had to look for the answers and write in our pages. We found all the colours so we just needed to work on our colouring. We finished it and it looked so amazing, Pauliasi was very inspiring with his learning yesterday so he was a very good buddy.

Kiwisport (Reflection)

WALT: explain on what we did at Kiwisport

On Monday after morning tea we had our first lesson of Boxing for term 3. Our coach for boxing was Coach Pax. Coach Pax had 3 commandments and it was Safety,Discipline and Respect. SO first we had to put on our boxing gloves and we played a quick game with a buddy so the game we played was Knee touching.  So how we played was we had to try touch the other person is knee without them touching yours. If you touch their knee that means you have to do 1 burpee. 

What I found challenging was trying to get my buddy's knee because he always moves around but if I move up it would be easy for him to touch my knee. Then we got into a punching and it was Jab & cross. So first we had to lower our legs down and put your leg that you kick with back abit and then you put your hands to your face and when you jab you have to put your left arm straight. Then she told us how to do a cross punch so you just need to swing your right hand.

How were people affected by Natural Disasters???

WALT: Answer how people are affected by Natural Disasters

Today we had a question and it was How were people affected by Natural Disasters?? So my group which was Me,Toma,Grace,Kaleb and Hamish came up with a lot of answers because we were watching videos and getting some information and answer for the question. What I learned was more ways people can get affected by Natural Disasters.And over 55 people were killed at Christchurch from the earthquake and over 78 people were injured. This can be very dangerous and it will feel like a Nightmare.
What I found challenging was coming up with ideas in the beginning when Miss Komor asked us  a question about Natural Disasters and then we were watching videos and then I got some answers.

Inquiry Reflection ( Natural Disaster)

WALT: Research about natural disasters.

On the last block we have been working on our Inquiry which is about Natural Disasters. So we all had to do a question about Natural Disasters and my question was why does Natural Disasters occur??. 

So I have been researching and still haven't got a answer. The reason why I did Why Natural Disasters occur is because I don't know that much about it and I just want explore more fun facts about Natural Disasters. 

I have learned that Landslides is a Cliff,Mountain,Rock that can fall down and get you injured. Landslides are very dangerous it can also cause death. A definition that I have made with my group in our own words was a Landslide is a large amount of rock that collapses from a mountain or a cliff

Maths (Reflection)

WALT: Pick a activity to help with your Maths.

Today in the middle block Kia Manawanui had Maths. Some of the Kia Manawanui students were gone to Kapa Haka and some stayed. First we had an division sheet and we had to fill it in by 8 minutes. I found it pretty challenging because I don't really like doing maths but at least I tried my best. I did only 3 lines and a bit and I think I did pretty. 

After filling out our sheets I got put into a group and we were allowed to pick any Maths games to work on so we did a game that I called Answer The Dice. So how play is that you have 2 dice and you roll it on the table and if the 2 dice stop you have to Multiply the number on the 2 dice try get the answer. For e.g. If I roll the 2 dice and it is 6 x 6 that will equal 36 so it all about who gets it fast. I got 24 point and the other got under 10.
