Today me and my buddy Demetrius worked on our Reading task which was about New Zealand Environment/Native Bush questions. It was fun doing our Questions because we finished it so fast and we were on to it. What I found challenging was Researching about some of the questions because I had to visit different sites and put it into my own words.  What I found enjoyable was finding out informations about the animals that has been introduced to New zealand in the past.

New Zealand third most beautiful country

Today I was reading an article about the New Zealand's third most beautiful country.New Zealand has achieved third place in the Rough Guide list of most beautiful countries.Rough Guide, producers of travel guides and holiday advice, has compiled the list based upon feedback from their readers.

 In third place New Zealand is described as being filled with rolling green hills, majestic mountains, breath-taking fjords and amazing diversity of landscape from one island to the next.  And I heard the the 1st beautiful country is Scotland the the 2nd beautiful country is Canada and then it is New Zealand.I think this is great because I wasn't expecting this to happen.

Police Guinea Pig Mascot dies

IALT:Reflect on what I was reading.

Today I was reaing a article about a Police Guinea pig dies.The New Zealand police’s much-loved guinea pig mascot has died.

Constable Elliot with his own blue uniform similar to that worn by our Kiwi cops was revealed earlier this year as the latest recruit teaching Kiwis to drive slowly.

But police announced some sad news on Twitter yesterday.Elliot was based with the Wellington Police team.

Constable Elliot urged motorists to slow down when driving, in particular near schools.

Amazing skywalk opens in China

Today I was reading an article about China's amazing Skywalk. Check out this amazing walkway which has opened in China.

The v-shaped skywalk has a glass bottom so that visitors who are brave enough to take a stroll on it can see through the floor to the ground more than 120 metres below!.

The structure is the longest of its kind in the world, sticking out almost 70 metres from the side of a sheer cliff.No more than 30 people are allowed on it at any one time.While I was reading this I was shocked because it was only 30 people on the Skywalk and I heard that China has scary buildings.

Texting while cross roads banned in US city

Today I was reading a article about us City banning people texting while crossing the roads.The US city of Honolulu, in Hawaii, has announced it is banning people from using their mobile phones while crossing the road.

The law, which will start in October, is aimed at reducing the number of accidents from distracted walking.

Between 2000 and 2011 more than 11,100 injuries occurred in the United States, according to the US National Safety Council.This a good news and they are right for Banning because people have been texting and walking in the road and they might not know what will happen to them.

Today I was reading a article about Boris Johnson arriving to NZ.Eccentric UK foreign secretary Boris Johnson has arrived in Kaikōura via helicopter for his first official visit to New Zealand.

Mr Johnson, the flamboyant, blonde tousled-haired former mayor of London, will hold talks on trade, foreign policy and international security during his visit.This is a shocking moment because I didn't know that he was a NZ until today.

Today I was reading this article and it was about this 8 year old that breaks the world record this is a shocking moment for me because it was a 8 year old.

An 8 year old named Roxy Getter has become the youngest girl to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro.Roxy and her family, including her 10-year-old brother Ben, USA, tackled the 19,341-foot mountain earlier this month during a family vacation to Tanzania.

They had originally intended to sign up for a safari when a friend suggested they look into hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro.

Jacinda Ardern new Labour leader

Today I was reading a article about the new Labour leader and I was kind of shock because I liked the other Labour leader but now we got a New Labour leader called Jacinda.Jacinda Ardern is the new leader of the Labour Party.Earlier today Andrew Little stepped aside as Labour leader and endorsed Ms Ardern as his replacement.

Kelvin Davis have been elected unopposed at a caucus meeting as Labour’s new leader and deputy.This was a shocking news because I thought it was the old Labour Leader but I was just shocked and upset.

New Zealand’s top pie

Today I was reading a Article all about pies and well I was reading this I found out this was the best pie in New Zealand.New Zealand’s best pie in the land has been announced – a venison, mushroom, bacon and cheese pie.

Baked by Taupo-based Lee Ing from Fast & Fresh Bakery, his creation beat 5696 other entries to unanimously take out the 2017 NZ Bakels Supreme Award.I think that MInce and Cheese is the best pie in New Zealand because it gots a very nice taste and its so cheesy with the Mince.

OMG!! Gold found in Paeroa

Today I wanted to read this article and put it in my own words because I knew it was going to be so interesting and shocking so there was Gold that was found in Paeroa.So A mining company has found a large quality of gold near Paeroa.

So there was people looking for  gold in Karangahake Gorge and has found over 300,000 ounces of high quality gold at one of its sites called Dubbo.So the company said they wanted to begin extracting small amounts of gold early next year.That is so cool that people found gold at Paeroa I hope there is more.

Crusaders through to Super Rugby finals

Today I read a article all about Super Rugby and this was about Crusaders going through the Super Rugby Finals.The Crusaders are through to the Super Rugby finals with a clinical 27-13 victory over the Chiefs.The win means they will make the 11,500km trip to Johannesburg for next week’s Super Rugby In the final they will play the Lions who came from behind to beat the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes squandered a 22-3 lead against the Lions to lose 44-29 in their semi-final.I was so mad because Hurricanes lost because that was my favorite team but at least they made it to the Semi Finals but I still can not wait until Lions vs Crusaders.

Buddy Reading - With Hoani

IALT:Help my buddy with mistakes.

Today after lunch which was 1:40 or 1:45 Room 9 had Buddy Reading with room 3 and my buddy was Hoani because my other buddy went to room 4.What I really enjoyed was looking at my buddy reading faster then before.In the beginning was a little slow in reading which was term 1 but now he is faster and he is improving his reading.Hoani is a really great buddy reader and he actually looks brainy and smart and that why I call him smart looking guy.Tomorrow at Tuakana Teina day I am going to look forward with his reading and I am going to look how fast he can read and if he makes any mistakes because he made a few and then I helped him and now he knows.

Google hit with $3.7 billion fine!!!

OMG!!! Google has had a 3.7 billion fine I just cannot believe that is so shocking.Internet giant Google has been fined a record €2.42 billion (NZ$3.7 billion) by the European Union after a seven-year investigation into allegations it was abusing its monopoly over internet searches.

The huge fine has been handed out over the company’s breaking of an EU competition law. Prosecutors argued that Google was using its dominant search engine force to promote its online shopping service ahead of others.

OMG I am so shocked about this because 3.7 billion dollars is so so so much money and that is so heart breaking and I am pretty sure Google is shock too because that is alot of money.

Mother and daughter bashed over 'cold' fried chicken in Georgia

IALT:Find out what happen to the Mum and daughter when they got smash

Today I was so terrified and so shocked because A mother and her daughter have got bashed up from 2 people because I think they were trying to still cold Fried Chicken.A mother and daughter suffered broken bones and black eyes after being brutally attacked at their family restaurant in the US when two customers complained that their fried chicken was cold.The fight started outside the Georgia restaurant when two assailants attacked owner Jeanette Norris, breaking her nose. 

When her 15-year-old daughter tried to help her mum, the male assailant punched her in the face.This was so sad because both of them end up in black eyes and broken bones just because of the 2 people.I think the daughter had a black eye from this man that straight punched her in the eye and she straight fell to the floor.What I think about this is that this is so sad for what happen.

Golden Bay springs gets water protection order.

Today I was reading about the Golden Bay springs gets water protection order. And that Te Waikoropupu Springs are located in Golden Bay,and it is near Nelson. And they are a hottest spot for tourists, and they are thought to be some of the cleanest and clearest water in New Zealand.  

The Springs will have the highest possible protection for a water body – a Water Conservation Order which is short way is Wco.  The Government says WCOs are the equivalent of National Park status for a water body. There are currently 15 WCOs in New Zealand – 13 rivers and two lakes. This is the first application for a springs.This is a great fact about the Golden Bay that is near Nelson. I really enjoyed reading this.

Man balances lawn mower on chin

IALT:Explain about this man balancing on his chin.

OMG A Man has balance a Lawn Mower on his chin.Pushing a running electric lawnmower for 71 metres is not a difficult thing to do, but try doing that distance not pushing it, but balancing it on your chin.There is person that is a New York Ashrita Furman that have broke his existing Guinness World Record for the farthest distance walked balancing a powered lawnmower on the chin.

This is so hard for what he did I cant believe that he balanced a Lawn Mower on his chin.That is impossible and actually a lawn mower is so heavy that its heavier than me.I am so shocked and amazed about what he did with the lawn mower.

Kiwi Can Reflection

IALT:Communicate with my team to play the game

Yesterday we had Kiwi can and our teacher was Mr Malu.And our first activity was this game but I forgot the name for it so I called it fish in the bucket.The instruction for the game that each team has two fishes each and we had aim it to the bucket.The challenges I had was aiming to the bucket and the other challenges was shooting it in but I still managed to get 1 in.What I didn't really like was making are group chart because my team didn't have  any Ideas but only one it was very short.I enjoyed communicating with my team to get the fish in and making them happy.What we were talking about after the 2 Activities were Responsibility and Reliability and Reliability means trusting on that person.Our other activity was relay and rugby so we went outside to played relays first so after relays we did rugby league because rugby league is my favorite sport but I play Union for a club.We played rugby until the bell rang and then we went up to class and got ready to go lunch.

Team New Zealand win America’s Cup

Today I was on kiwi kids news again and I heard that Team New Zealand have claimed the 35th America’s Cup regatta with a comprehensive 7-1 victory over Oracle USA.New Zealand were too strong for Oracle in the final race this morning, defeating the American team by 27 seconds to bring home the Auld Mug.

This is a really good fact that they have won for the America's Cup.This is a fun fact that they have won against USA.The only game that I watch was the other team and USA have won that game but their other team have won against USA and now New Zealand have won against them for the America's Cup. 

Sea Pickles hit US coast

Today I was on kiwi kids news and I was shocked about sea pickles that have hit US coast.And a rare, tiny marine creature known as the unicorn of the sea has swarmed in its millions on the west coast of America, ruining fishermen’s nets.

Scientists are baffled as little is known about these creatures.

Fishers along the west coast have told researchers that in some places they are unable to catch anything because the creatures are forming clusters that are so dense and tightly packed.This might be a little scary because if they stand on 1 it might hurt .

World’s most ugly dog named

IALT:Explain what happen to this dog is name.

Today I have found out that this dog had the world's ugly name.A gentle giant Dog called Martha has been crowned the winner of the 29th annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest.The Neapolitan Mastiff was a favorite of the Northern California crowd from the start. 

She seemed to play up to the crowd, often plopping down on her side on stage with her droopy face spread across the ground.As the winning dog she went away $1,500, a flashy trophy and a trip to New York for media appearances.Martha was rescued when she was nearly blind, but after several surgeries can see again, according to her handler Shirley Zindler.

This is pretty sad for saying that is a really ugly name but Martha is a algood name.But I think it is kind if say because he was rescued and he was nearly blind and they said that he had a ugly name.
