Maui Recount
It was many years ago when I caught the sun. Then I was very tired so I called my brothers to come and help. They were making ropes out of flax so when I called them, they ran as fast as a cheetah so they could help me. They first let the sun go and they tricked the sun and Maui said “Kei te haere tatou i te whare.”
Then they got out of the bushes and threw the ropes in the sun then they pulled it and Maui was hitting the sun and said “E haere koe puhoi”.
After that Maui and the brothers went back to their village and stayed their and the sun went slowly and slowly then they lived happily ever after.

3 brothers going to the forest
Long long ago lived 3 brothers named Gary , Kauri and Tevita. They were strong as the rock, fast as a cheetah and as tall as an adult.
One day the brothers went out looking for someone to fight. Then they came across 5 chinese warriors. They said ‘do you guys want makatthis gold? ’Yes’ said Kauri. Well then challenge us to a fist fight.
Meanwhile Gary was the first one to fight and he won the fight against the oldest chinese soldier. Then kauri fought the middle aged soldier. Tevita who didn’t know how to fight but he was very super tough stole the gold and ran away.
The other 3 warriors saw him and chased him. He was running when he felt a horrible pain in his left arm. ‘ Im hit ‘ he yelled.
So he dropped the gold and waited for Kauri and Gary to come and help him. Then the chinese soldiers got attacked by a huge tiger. After that Kauri picked up the gold and went to run when he dropped the gold into a deep hole in the dirt.
Gary went to grab it when he felt the ground begin to shake and rumble. Amazed by what they saw a gold fountain appeared with gold coming out of it. From then on gold has always been valuable.
